master's student in counseling
supervised by michael leach, phd
I’m currently earning a Master of Science in Counseling at UNT Dallas and fulfilling my practicum requirement at Richland Oaks. Prior to this program I received a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Criswell College.
I am deeply honored to sit with each patient that I see. I approach therapy from an integrated humanistic perspective, rooted in the rich tradition of psychodynamic thought, yet drawing upon mindfulness-based practices, existential phenomenology, gestalt therapy, as well as the wealth of current research being done on neuroscience. Some of my practice interests include multicultural and social justice issues; identity development; Christianity and Buddhism; religious identity development; and LGBTQ issues.
I see patients from diverse ethnic, religious, and social backgrounds. I work with individuals (adults and children), families, and couples (I am certified in levels 1 & 2 of Gottman couples therapy).
I believe that each client has within themselves the ability to get unstuck and live a rich, satisfying life. My hope is to help facilitate that growth and open up new ways that may have been previously unknown or forgotten.
