Karen is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern in the state of Texas. The desire to pursue a career in counseling led Karen to earn a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. Karen gained valuable experience while completing her practicum at the Child and Family Guidance Center. There she had the privilege of working with children, teens, and adults on issues of anxiety, depression, coping skills, parenting, interpersonal relationships, and illness management and rehabilitation. She also worked with teens in the Safety Net program as a co-leader of several middle and high school small groups.
Karen’s passion is providing clients of any age a pathway to brain and health and healing. She enjoys working with children, teens, adults, and families. She views each client as a unique individual and works alongside them to help find their best life possible. Karen utilizes therapeutic techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Art, Mindfulness, and Non-Violent Communication.
As a Family Tree provider, Karen offer 5-10 FREE counseling sessions to qualifying families.
