licensed professional counselor - intern
supervised by rachel Meltzer, lpc-s
My name is Rachel Zubatch, and I earned a Master of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Dallas. I am recognized as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern in the state of Texas. My experience working with adolescents, adults, and families allows me to offer services to a variety of individuals. While working at the Timberlawn Mental Health System, I facilitated group therapy and led psychoeducational classes to adolescents as well as adults. Additionally, I spent a year providing individual psychotherapy for detained youths at the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center. Prior to my work as a therapist, I spent several years as a tutor and mentor to children and adolescents.
I firmly believe that there is no “one size fits all” answer to successful therapy, and I strive to create a personal therapeutic relationship with each individual in order to identify the best approach. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and includes techniques from psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution focused brief therapy (SFBT), acceptance-based behavioral therapy (ABBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I have experience working with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relational issues, trauma, self-harm, and conduct disorders.
As a Family Tree provider, I am able to offer 4-6 FREE sessions of counseling to families who are experiencing conflict and who have at least one youth age 17 or younger.
