master’s student in clinical psychology

supervised by sandra davis, psyd

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Management from Park University, and am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Sex Therapy. After completing my master’s program, I will continue working toward AASECT (American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists) certification as a Sex Therapist.

Feelings, our thoughts about feelings, and how we handle them are at the root of the issues most people are dealing with, which is why Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is my favorite approach in therapy sessions. I am also familiar and comfortable with utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and psychodynamic therapy. Each client is different, and therefore my approach with each client will be different. I will work with each client to find the appropriate treatment plan for them.

My desire is to help women and men know it is okay to have and engage in a healthy sex life, and not to feel ashamed about it. In America, sex is often treated as a taboo matter that people are afraid to truly enjoy — afraid to express to their mate what does and doesn’t turn them on. I hope that my master’s degree and its specific focus will allow me to turn my passion for human sexuality into something that truly assists people. I also hope to assist sexual assault victims in dealing with the assault, and working towards having a healthy sex life again.
