master's student in counseling

Some kids grow up wanting to be doctors or dinosaurs; Stevie Cornett grew up wanting to become a counselor. After experiencing the efficacy of counseling first-hand, she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Psychology before continuing on to the University of North Texas' Counseling program. There, Stevie gained experience working with client concerns related to comorbid diagnoses, depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, and minority identity development.

Stevie's practice is grounded in cognitive theory but delivered from a humanistic approach. Believing that reality is constructed from both individual perception and sociocultural context, Stevie is honored to learn about each client's lived experience. Depending on client concerns, she might also utilize techniques from existential, mindfulness-based, and emotionally-focused therapies to help clients reach their goals.

Stevie works out of ROCC’s Richardson office. To schedule an appointment with her, please call 469-619-7622 or email ROCC's Richardson office at ROCC@richlandoaks.org.
