“Don’t judge a man by where he is, because you don’t know how far he’s come.” –C.S. Lewis
This quote by C.S. Lewis speaks of the unique journey that each man must make in life. My experience with disaster relief work has geared me towards seeing the capacity to adjust to life after catastrophes and man’s excellent ability to find meaning in light of said events. This resiliency is a fundamental goal for each of my clients, despite their circumstances. Therapy is the process of understanding the impact of episodes, while seeking to understand what that means for the individual. A part of that incorporates learning how to cope with one’s new life. I have a special interest in working with trauma, PTSD, and Dissociative Identity Disorder. I also have experience with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, religious/spiritual concerns, and several others.
I use a psychodynamic treatment approach with aspects of Internal Family Systems and attachment theory to view life’s events and stressors. Incorporated in that, therapy includes a relationship that can foster growth and change in each of my clients that I believe can be both reparative and paramount to the process of therapy.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern in the state of Texas and received my Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary.
